Acceptable use policy

Rules for acceptable image content and use of Quitar Fondo.

Last updated: 2026-09-02

Scope

This policy applies whenever you access or use Quitar Fondo, including when you upload or process an image. It forms part of our Terms of service.

Quitar Fondo is a background-removal and image-editing tool. The optional AI background feature generates only the scene surrounding an image supplied by the user; it does not provide general image or video generation from scratch.

Six prohibited content categories

For AI-generated backgrounds and all uploaded or processed images, you must not request, upload, process, generate, promote, distribute, or facilitate any of the following six categories:

  1. Pornography or NSFW content. This includes adult, pornographic, sexually explicit, sexually suggestive, or other NSFW content; sexual violence; non-consensual intimate content; sexual exploitation; sexual content involving animals; and requests to remove, alter, or simulate clothing so that a person appears nude or sexually exposed.
  2. Violence or gore. This includes graphic or extreme violence, torture, mutilation, severe injury, blood or gore, self-harm, and content that glorifies, encourages, threatens, or incites violence or physical harm.
  3. Hate speech or discriminatory content. This includes content that attacks, dehumanizes, demeans, threatens, incites hatred or violence, or promotes exclusion or discrimination against a person or group based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic.
  4. Child-unsafe content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This includes any sexual, abusive, exploitative, grooming, or otherwise harmful content involving, depicting, endangering, or sexualizing a minor, whether real or synthetic.
  5. Deepfakes or impersonation. This includes face swaps, identity impersonation, fabricated evidence, or manipulation of a real person's image or likeness without the rights and consent required for that use or when intended to deceive.
  6. Copyright or trademark infringement. This includes content that copies, misuses, or facilitates infringement of protected works, characters, logos, brand names, trademarks, or other intellectual property without the rights or permission required for the intended use.

You must also not submit descriptions intended to create prohibited content or evade local, Waffo, Replicate, or model-level moderation.

These restrictions apply to real and synthetic images and to public, private, commercial, artistic, and fictional uses.

Other prohibited content and conduct

You must not use the service to:

  • Break the law or promote illegal, deceptive, violent, threatening, harassing, or harmful activity.
  • Infringe copyright, privacy, likeness, trademark, or any other right belonging to another person.
  • Upload malware, corrupted files, or content designed to attack, disrupt, probe, or overload the service or a third party.
  • Impersonate another person, misrepresent ownership or authorization, or use an image without the rights or consent required for that use.
  • Circumvent technical, account, payment, credit, or usage limits; automate abusive requests; or create disproportionate cost.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, data, accounts, or processing providers.

Enforcement

We use a locally maintained English/Spanish rules list, Waffo Prompt Sift, and the generation model's own moderation controls. A request proceeds only after the prompt review returns an allow decision. These controls can make mistakes and do not replace your responsibility to follow this policy.

We may refuse or stop processing and may restrict or suspend access when we reasonably believe this policy or our Terms of service have been violated. We may cooperate with valid legal requests in accordance with our Privacy policy.

Reporting and contact

To report suspected abuse, challenge a moderation decision, or ask a question about this policy, email info@quitarfondo.org. If available, include the safe request reference shown for the event and only the information needed for us to understand the issue; do not email prohibited images.
